A new hat for Dempsey, based on Lee Meredith’s excellent Custom Tritops pattern. I was inspired by socks: the main part of the hat is an allover eye-of-partridge pattern, like a sturdy sock heel, and the ears are made just like turkish-cast-on sock toes. We had a fun time experimenting with the position of the ears. I opted to put them on the crown of the hat, but they looked weird with the slouchy way Dempsey wore the hat. Instead, the ears are stitched on just a few inches above the brim.
