For a project in my freshman design class, we made a rom-com.
Check it out! I have a small role in this short movie and I’m really happy with the way it came out. I’d like to thank the inimitable Dorian Lafferre for his superb editing, and Dana for her scriptwriting. This was really fun.
Scarlet Street. I just watched this movie tonight, and boy, was it great. It’s probably best classified as a black comedy. The plot, which is delightfully complex, is full of “oh no!” moments that keep you on the edge of your seat. Edward G. Robinson’s performance is great, and the costumes are really fun to look at. And because it’s in the public domain, you can watch the whole thing at archive.org, which you should go do right away.
This is, I think, my favorite live recording of “Old College Try”, an excellent Mountain Goats song from their excellent album Tallahassee. Listen to the bass. Especially at the very end. It’s superb.
