Present Joys

“We thank the Lord of heaven and earth
who hath preserved us from our birth
for present joys, for blessings past,
and for the hope of heaven at last.”

Knitting conductive thread into the fingers of your gloves seems like a no-brainer! The little 5-yard spool of conductive thread looks just like the nylon reinforcement thread I sometimes use in sock heels.

(via Pae White Uses computer-assisted loom to weave opera curtain of scanned images of aluminum foil.) I’m not sure how I feel about this. I mean, it’s a really cool novelty. But it’s extremely distracting, and isn’t that the exact opposite of what a curtain is supposed to do?

When a man looks like he has walked out of an old black and white photo you find at a flea market. Favorite.

This man’s trousers are, in my opinion, perfect. Firstly, they sit at his natural waist, creating a highly flattering waistline, and secondly, they are just wide-legged enough to give his figure a weightedness that he couldn’t get with skinny pants.

These ties are from Harvard, from the 50s, and all denote specific sports affiliations. And they are rad. I think I’m going to myself a tie just like this in marled-white and red for CCAD.
