Look: JC Penney rebranded. They discovered this “bold new logo” in a contest.
The logo was designed to evoke a sense of movement and discovery as the letters appear to break out of the box, symbolizing an emergence into an exciting, new future.
Oh, and guess what? They aren’t JCPenney anymore. They’re jcpenney. With no capital letters. Young people leave the capital letters off things, so if JCPenney leaves capital letters off its name, they will instantly appear youthful and relevant.
And people think graphic design is difficult. Honestly I don’t even know why I’m going to school. Clearly, if I use lowercase Helvetica for every project I will succeed in life.
The Mountain Goats live at the Bowery Ballroom, 2007-10-01
This was the first Mountain Goats bootleg I ever downloaded. I vividly remember listening to it and thinking, “hey, this band’s live stuff is mind-blowingly good; I think I will become obsessed.” This bootleg has got some really good renditions, viz. Tulsa Imperative, a rarity; pre-Heretic Pride versions of How to Embrace a Swamp Creature and In the Craters on the Moon; PPH-harmony-filled versions of Pure Milk and Tetrapod; and a Coroner’s Gambit where death’s “fingernails were glistening”. All in all, one of my favorite Mountain Goats bootlegs.

GRANNY SQUARES (and their knitted counterparts) are always amazing to me. They’re so simple yet they can be combined to make such pretty things. I need to sneak a granny square project in between my sweater-making!

I’m not able to open PDF files - I don’t use a Mac. Luckily, my assistant was able to open your PDF, print it, scan it and save it as a JPG. I have to say, the colors you’ve chosen are horrible. Everything looks muddy. But I do like how the whole picture is slanted; it looks totally MTV.via (guys! this is my life!)
