There are some beautiful shots of Detroit’s many abandoned homes over at 100 Abandoned Houses. It’s the kind of thing where I just want to post all the pictures, but I fear that would break tumblr. So instead, here are three of my favorites:

This painting by George Bellows, Summer Night, Riverside Drive, is also at the Columbus Museum of Art. It’s the kind of painting that you want to spend all afternoon staring into. This photograph is not. You really ought to see it in person.
