Lord, may I be at rest in You
and sweetly sleep the whole night through.
Refresh my strength, for Your own sake,
so I may serve You when I wake.
According to Louis Benson in Studies of Familiar Hymns, John Keble used to recite this hymn to himself before bed. (I think that’s a fantastic idea.)
Christ, Whose glory fills the skies,Charles Wesley’s Christ, Whose glory fills the skies
Christ, the true, the only light,
Sun of Righteousness, arise!
Triumph o’er the shades of night;
Day-spring from on high, be near;
Day-star, in my heart appear.
Here might I stay and sing,Samuel Crossman, My song is love unknown, 1664
no story so divine;
never was love, dear King!
never was grief like Thine.
This is my Friend,
in Whose sweet praise
I all my days
could gladly spend.

A hymn by Joseph Stennett, published in 1791.‘It is finished,’ the Redeemer said,
And meekly bowed His dying head,
Whilst we this sentence scan,
Come, sinners, and observe the Word.
Behold the conquests of the Lord,
Complete for helpless man.Who now shall urge a second claim?
The law no longer can condemn,
Faith a release can show;
Justice itself a friend appears,
The prison house a whisper hears,
‘Loose him, and let him go.’His toil divinely finished stands,
But oh! the praise his work demands,
Careful may we attend!
Conclusion to our souls be this:
Because salvation finished is,
Our thanks shall never end.
