Today was our first day in the new Jeni’s World HQ. We had a cozy little creative team family meal at the big table in Jeni’s office. Nobody wanted me to take this picture, so they all tried to sabotage it—but some memories need to be archived, sabotage or not.

Last week, my co-workers celebrated my birthday with a bounteous White Castle lunch. This picture does justice to absolutely no part of it, but it’s the only artifact I have.

A few weeks ago, I started a new job at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, joining the in-house creative team as a graphic designer. Here’s a picture of me on the job, in the studio where we work. Well, I’m taking a break on the job in this picture. (We had sparklers left over from a July 4 photoshoot, so we made good use of them during leisure time.)
I always have difficulty acclimating myself to new things—the first few weeks at Jeni’s were no different. But I’m now starting to settle into things there and I am really enjoying it. I’m working in a relaxed, visually-stimulating office with a bunch of very fascinating, charming people. I’m very thankful for how things have played out.
“The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.”

After the senior thesis show finished up yesterday—after we’d torn everything down and put everything back—a bunch of us headed to Plank’s Bier Garten in German Village to celebrate. The feeling of relief and exhaustion and elation and camaraderie was inexpressible. It was a good thing.

Anna and Julia hosted a Thanksgiving feast this afternoon. There was an extremely small turnout, but we had lots of fun anyway. The pumpkin soup was a highlight, as was Julia’s rudimentary-but-effective guitar playing.
