Present Joys

“We thank the Lord of heaven and earth
who hath preserved us from our birth
for present joys, for blessings past,
and for the hope of heaven at last.”

What I did this week (1 mar 2013)

  • Spent monday morning pouring more plastic. If that sounds exactly like last week, that’s because our teacher has given us no due date for the current project and we’re all stuck in a time warp.
  • Discovered that the new Crane Café barista lives in the same apartment building as Jason; started making plans with Amanda to induce romance.
  • Got out of advanced type 40 minutes early on tuesday because Mr. Burleigh misplaced all the files for our new project. I used the extra time to prepare for my ominous draping midterm.
  • Took my draping midterm, which was not actually a midterm but instead an intense two-hour timeframe during which I had to interpret a dress from a randomly-selected illustration and create it on a dress form. It was a fun-yet-physically exhausting experience.
  • Almost went to Wendy’s during thursday morning’s ad class, but didn’t.
  • Despite not making a Wendy’s run, killed lots of time with Amanda and Jason during ad.
  • Used the microwave in the student lounge—a thing I don’t typically do—and talked to a friend I don’t typically see. Ended up missing the first fifteen minutes of advanced type, but nobody seemed to mind.
  • Had an “ice cream frozen yogurt social” at my OhioHealth internship, celebrating ten years.
  • Finished the week by having a very nice meeting with Mr. Mohr about fall classes.
