Present Joys

“We thank the Lord of heaven and earth
who hath preserved us from our birth
for present joys, for blessings past,
and for the hope of heaven at last.”

What I did this week (29 mar 2013)

  • Sunday night, happened to check the syllabus for my “internship class” and realized a heavily-weighted research paper was due the next day! So I stayed up late to write it. Late.
  • Dove downtown monday morning for package design at 8am, talked to my friends and realized that I had a ton of homework to do, and went back home at 9:20am. (Nobody minded.)
  • Did lots of homework for Burleigh. Lots and lots. Every waking minute.
  • Ran into Marcia Tabler on Cleveland Ave. Her bright red raincoat was the happiest chroma I saw all week.
  • In draping, had my first time back in the studio in three weeks. Started draping a dress of my own design out of cheapo knit fabric.
  • Stayed up until at least 1am every night this week working on my big cooking project for Burleigh. I have probably slept less this week than any other week of school, but it’s okay because I really am having fun with this stuff.
  • Matched Amanda, half-deliberately and half-accidentally; took lots of silly photos during class.
  • Went to CSCA to hear Stephen Coles give a talk about typography. It was my first time, and a very nice time indeed—schmoozy social-hour notwithstanding!
