Present Joys

“We thank the Lord of heaven and earth
who hath preserved us from our birth
for present joys, for blessings past,
and for the hope of heaven at last.”

This is pretty much all I strive to be, sartorially speaking. (via Maxminimus)

This painting by George Bellows, Summer Night, Riverside Drive, is also at the Columbus Museum of Art. It’s the kind of painting that you want to spend all afternoon staring into. This photograph is not. You really ought to see it in person.

One of the highlights of the recently reopened Columbus Museum of Art is the prominent display of Charles Demuth’s precisionist paintings. This, Incense of a New Church is one of my favorites. The digital image does not do it justice; if you’re in Columbus you should just go visit the museum and see it in person.

He added that there should be
“no blank checks, no checks
at all,” for Hamas.
